Sending Restrictions

Our travellers can carry lots of things so long as it’ll fit into their luggage and is in line with government and airline regulations. If items in your parcel require specific wrapping like bubble wrap, you may provide it or request that the traveller buys it and you’ll reimburse.

Additional Notes: If an item is allowed on an aeroplane but not permitted in the local mail network, you’ll need to make alternative arrangements to collect or drop off this item to or from a traveller.

Claiming Compensation

In the case of loss or damage, ShareMyBag will cover the cost of the content of your missing parcel. We’ll need to establish a few things:

  • That the items were actually in your parcel. We’ll use your contents list to determine this.
  • That it’s worth what you claim its worth at the time it was lost. We’ll need you to provide receipts to this effect and/or we’ll get the market rate of those items and pay you accordingly.

Please note that you will only be entitled to compensation if you have purchased a package guarantee, and you will be paid in line with the maximum pay out for the band of guarantee you purchased. If you did not purchase any guarantee, we will refund you the traveller fee less service fees or any other expenses that were incurred in the process (e.g., any cost incurred in moving your parcel from your agent to the traveller).
